Bruce Henry is an extraordinary musician whose 3-octave range, pure voice and versatile vocal stylings have taken him to gigs on five continents.  He has recorded for Disney, HBO and many national ad campaigns. He’s performed with and opened for the likes of Doc Severinson, Roberta Flack, Chris Botti, Ramsey Lewis, Stephane Grapelli, Jimmy Jam and The Sounds of Blackness.

Stephen Slayer, President of American Public Radio, says,

“Bruce Henry’s range is extraordinary, and his on-stage presentation is at once commanding and full of charm. He is a talent of the first order.”

Mr. Henry’s concert will start this season in style as we enter the sixth year of our wonderful community concert series.  Be sure to pack a picnic, invite your neighbors, bring your friends and walk or roll to the concert.

 Live on the Drive is presented by founding partner, North Memorial, with the Cleveland Neighborhood Association, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, North End Hardware and The Lowry Café, Camden Music School, NorthNews, Victory Neighborhood Association, Camden Pet Hospital, Washburn-McReavy, Max Checking, Donor John Helgeland and the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council.  This activity is funded, in part, by appropriations from the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the State’s general fund, and its arts and cultural heritage fund that was created by a vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008. This summer, like we kicked off last year, we’ll be partnering with the Minneapolis Parks to bring you Movies in the Park after the concert each evening this summer. Which movies will be showing? That’s up to you!

If you love movies just as much as you love the outdoors, the MPRB’s Movies in the Parks series is your ticket to cinematic entertainment this summer!

The 2012 Movies in the Parks series, runs Monday–Saturday nights June 9–Aug. 25. The mobile program will travel to more than 30 parks throughout the summer including Tuesday nights at Father Hennepin Bluffs Park, Fridays at Lake Harriet Bandshell and Thursdays rotating between Powderhorn Park and Victory Memorial Drive in north Minneapolis. Seven new and exciting themes offer films for all movie lovers including New Releases, Totally 80s, Family Fun Night, Kung Fu Theater, Baseball Classics, Fright Night and All-Time Classics. Plus, there will be four Viewer’s Choice nights where fans can vote for the movies they want to see. All movies begin 15 minutes after sunset.

All concerts and movies are free, and everyone is welcome to attend. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, pack a picnic, and don’t forget the bug spray!
